The sequel to Sonic Rush and Sonic's second DS outing, Sonic Rush Adventure introduced Blaze's home Sol Dimension, the obnoxiously annoying Australian raccoon Marine, and Touch Screen seafaring.

Despite being considered superior to its predecessor in most respects, Rush Adventure didn't sell well. Resultingly, it was Dimps' last original Sonic game for a handheld, with subsequent handheld games being tie-ins for the console titles.

The European version was initially rated PEGI 12+. A later version, rated PEGI 3+, changes a line of Marine's dialogue in Coral Cave due to "bugger" being an offensive term in the UK.
