This is a sub-page of Development:The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

The file z_majora/data/shape/find_Gfx.tag, which is a programmatically generated list of display lists found in various game files, was created partway through development. Comparing the files that are mentioned in it and files that are missing from it to the file addition dates in the RCS commit logs, it's possible to date this file to Dec. 7, 1999. The game was released in Japan on April 27, 2000.

The room files mentioned in find_Gfx.tag differ from the final game, with some extra rooms that no longer exist and some missing rooms that were created after December 7. (The file also references some extra maps that no longer exist and some missing maps that were created later, which you can read about here.)

It's important to keep in mind that, at the time find_Gfx.tag was created, the rooms may have differed from the rooms we see in the final game. Therefore, just because Room 00 of the Lost Woods is mentioned in the file and present in the final game doesn't mean that the rooms' appearances or contents were identical at this time. (However, the room's December 7 appearance could potentially be further ascertained by comparing the display list names.)

zelda2_scene contains rooms 01 to 06 (while the final game only goes from room 00 to 05), and zelda2_tool_scene goes from room 00 to 06, so it's not clear why room 00 is only missing from one directory.
