Diablo II/Monsters
This is a sub-page of Diablo II.
Note that some monsters exist only as textual references. This covers added graphics and data for monsters that don't appear.

Cut Monster Types
The following monsters have unique animations.
The Butcher
Apparently a leftover from Diablo 1. He can be spawned, his AI works and is fully animated with sounds. His AI is kind of dumb and similar to the Smith.
Wolf
A monstrous wolf. Does not have sounds or data, but does have a name ("Wolf") and is more or less fully animated. Its attack animation is very similar to its walking animation.
Elemental Demons
These come in four flavors, for each of the magical types of damage (fire, cold, lightning, poison), although the lightning monster is missing animations. They do not have sounds. They use a special AI coded special for them - they will get close to the target and then suicide-bomb for some elemental damage. Interestingly, they disappear while moving, similar to Willowisps.
Quill Bear
Five absurdly large variants of quill rat, dubbed Quill Bear, Spike Giant, Thorn Brute, Razor Beast and Giant Urchin. They use quill rat sounds and their AI is fairly rudimentary, but they function fine. They have a missile attack that doesn't function properly.
Mosquito Nest
Similar to Foul Crow Nests, Mosquito Nests spawn mosquito enemies. It's fully animated, has sounds, and the AI functions perfectly. There's four different variants for the four different mosquito enemies - some of which don't spawn.
Evil Holes
Evil Holes are rather bizarre. They are spawners, similar to Mosquito Nests and Foul Crow Nests, but they cannot be targeted or destroyed by the player. They destroy themselves after spawning a certain number of Fallen. They are hardcoded to always spawn Fallen no matter what, even though there are five different variants of them which are all identical. On top of this, they have an item reference and an item sound, which seems to suggest that they are connected to, or perhaps were spawned from, items somehow.
Plant Beast
An egg-like monster that looks very similar to Druid vines when it attacks. It does not have AI, sounds, or data and cannot be spawned.
Gorgon
A snake-like monster that wields a sword and shield. Only two animations (walking and idle) exist and are incomplete. Some dummied-out data exists for four different variants of this particular type of monster.
Testing Monsters
Two testing animations exist in the Expansion files for Imp-related testing. One appears to be a tower, while the other appears to be some kind of large, lumbering beast.
Unused Graphics
Skeleton Archer
A very old alternate animation exists for skeleton archers. It has all of its frames, directions, and animations.
Ghost
Ghosts have an unused spell-casting animation.
