This is a sub-page of Duke Nukem Forever.

The game's textures and graphics that aren't stored as .biks are stored in Textures/Complied.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Appears to be two early Duke textures in mt_mp_characters/Duke.
  • Some of the assets seen the news reports in the first two levels of the game are present in dt_effects/TV.
  • Various titles from Duke Nukem 3D in dt_Walls2/Duke3d_Orig.
  • More early multiplayer graphics in DigsMenu/Menu.

Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Verify if the following are unused:
  • A bunch of Hud graphics for weapons are suffixed "hl2" (with one that's just "hl") obliviously referencing Half-Life 2.
  • Heat haze materials in dt_effects/TestMaterials.
  • Stuff in dt_effects/Creatures.

DLC-Test?

There exist two textures in dt_dlc-test/Surface that depicted camouflage and a cracked surface (likely sandstone). Judging from the filenames and directory, these were used as test graphics for the DLC, likely Hail to the Icons Parody Pack.

ezVEND Environment Texture

Found at mt_Skins/ezvend is an environment texture called ezvend_enviro2bc.dds. This texture was meant for the cut ezVEND vending machine from earlier versions of the game that would give the player items.

My Digs Babes Placeholders

Found in Menu/MP are a bunch of placeholder graphics for the unlockable Babes found in the My Digs mode. Sgt. Peppa and Trudy Uprights have simple placeholder text while Funky Nefertiti has a render of Miso Ho'ney with an afro painted on.

Nuke HUD Graphics

Graphics for the nuke ammo found in dt_hud/ingame_hud:

These are found in dt_hud/Inventory:

The "_hl2" suffixed icon could be a reference to Half-Life 2, as its ammo pickup icons have a similar style.

Old Jetpack Design HUD Graphics

Graphics depicting the unused Jetpack design found in dt_hud/Inventory.

Duke Vision Test Graphic

dt_Hud/DukeVision has a graphic called dv_test.dds, making its intent rather obvious.

Early Multiplayer Graphics

Found in DigsMenu/Menu are various unused graphics related to multiplayer like customisations and the babes.

Gas Mask

A graphic called dukes_hats_gasmask.dds depicting an unused gas mask hat. The graphic appears to be unfinished, judging from the lack of a locked variant and a glow outline.

Interestingly the graphic depicting Sgt. Peppa appears to depict an early design, with her wearing a beret and having less visible hair.
