Unused Items

Multiple Backpacks

Backpacks are items in Battle Royale that, when picked up, replace the player's Back Bling and give the player new capabilities.

At one point, the development team at Epic had more plans for Backpacks, and the Jetpack was only supposed to be the first of many. Unfortunately, that plan never came to fruition, and the only Backpack to be added was the Jetpack along with several re-skins.

However, after the release of the v4.20 content update and the addition of the Jetpack, many other Backpacks were leaked.

Seize Pack/Flag

This may have been a early version of the flag item added to creative but the files for this item are in a unused playlists folder labeled "seize" this item uses the lama jewel as a base/icon

Early Jetpack

in 3.0 the Jetpack was added to files with its old model from a early point in Fortnite's development the name of the early model suggests that the jetpack was originally called the junkpak

Eye of the Storm Tracker

An image of the Eye of the Storm Tracker item in-game.

The "Eye of the Storm Tracker" was a Rare Backpack that would show where the next storm circle was on the map and mini-map as a yellow-tinted circle. It was added to the files in the v4.20 update, and subsequently mistakenly added to the loot pool in place of the Jetpack.

On the ground, the item had the appearance of the (then unreleased) "Skirmish" Back Bling, which was released along with the "Rose Team Leader" Outfit in Chapter 1: Season 5 as a reward for purchasing a Founder's Pack.

Upon picking up the item, it would replace the player's current Back Bling with the item, similar to how Jetpacks work.

In the inventory, the item used the icon for the (also then unreleased) "Vintage" Back Bling, which released in the Item Shop during Chapter 1: Season 5 as a part of the "Buckled" bundle.

Noticing their mistake, the item was removed from the loot pool and replaced with the Jetpack within 30 minutes of the update releasing, making it one of the fastest item removals in Fortnite history.[1]

The concept of the item was repurposed as the "Storm Scout Sniper Rifle", which was initially released in Chapter 1: Season 9. An Exotic version of the weapon released as the "Storm Scout" in Chapter 2: Season 5, functioning identically to its normal counterpart. Additionally, players were able to purchase the ability to see the next Storm circle from NPCs starting in Chapter 2: Season 5. Later in Chapter 4: Season 4, Forecaster Towers were added that let players defeat a boss to acquire the same functionality.

Medic Pack

A showcase of the Medic Pack in-game.
(Source: LostOfFortnite)
A render of the Medic Pack's model.

The "Medic Pack" was planned to be an Epic rarity Backpack that allowed you to revive yourself when downed. It was added to the files in the v4.20 update. While the exact effect this item would have given is unknown, it was likely intended to give players the ability to self-revive and / or revive their teammates faster. Visually, the item appeared to be a semi-futuristic medical backpack. Unlike the Eye of the Storm Tracker, the item had no usable code attached to it, meaning it was very early in development.

The description reads: "Carry your allies to victory with this advanced life saving equipment!"

Intel Pack

A showcase of the Intel Pack in-game.
(Source: LostOfFortnite)
A render of the Intel Pack's model.

The Intel Pack was planned to be an Epic rarity Backpack that, similar to the Eye of the Storm Tracker, would display the next Storm circle for the player. Additionally, it would also reveal nearby loot and play a sound when enemies are nearby, making it seemingly a direct upgrade to the Eye of the Storm Tracker. In the inventory, the icon used would be a Storm icon (likely placeholder).

The description reads: "Find the Eye of the Storm, and the reveal nearby loot and enemies!"

Double Jump Backpack

A showcase of the Double Jump Backpack in-game.
(Source: LostOfFortnite)

Allowed the player to gain the Ninja's double jump ability from Save the World. Very barebones, no changes were made visually to the effect when you initiate a double jump.

Missile Battery Pack

A showcase of the Missile Battery Pack in-game.
(Source: LostOfFortnite)

The Missile Battery Pack would have allowed the player to aim a reticle and fire a barrage of rockets up into the air, which would then fall at the location you were aimed at. It had a 5-second cooldown and unlimited uses. When in your inventory, the Missile Battery Pack has the icon of the "Vintage" Back Bling, and replaces your Back Bling with a version of the Save the World Outlander "Gunblazer Southie"'s Back Bling that is enlarged and turned upside-down.

Guided Missile Pack

A showcase of the Guided Missile Pack in-game.
(Source: LostOfFortnite)

Planned to be released in Chapter 1: Season 5, the Guided Missile Pack was a Legendary Backpack that attempted to balance the Guided Missile Launcher. While held, the pack would decrease your movement speed and equip you with a Guided Missile Launcher. The item had a limited number of uses before it would be unusable, similar to fuel in a Jetpack. The inventory icon was shared with the icon next to the inventory keybind on-screen.

The description reads: "It's Back!"

this trap is a test trap that would shoot homing missiles at your enemy`s it was likely just a placeholder item or a test item as the name suggests
