At the Options menu, highlight "Exit" (at the very bottom), then press L + R + Select.

Level Select

Start the game, then when prompted to select the number of players, hold L + R on Controller 1 and L + R + Left on Controller 2, then press Right on Controller 1. If done correctly, a two-digit number will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Keep the buttons held and press Right to change the level number, and Start to begin the game there.
