One of those strange Japanese action games, except this one managed to keep its anime-style graphics.

Debug Menu

KendoRageDebugMain.png
Use the Game Genie codes 1AB6-6588 + 6DB6-65E8 and select Configuration to access a fairly detailed debug menu.

Selecting "MODE 7 TEST PROGRAM" fades out, then fades right back into the debug menu, so it might have been removed. "JOY PAD INPUT TEST" and "MONITER TEST" bring up the same tests that appear in the normal Configuration menu.

Pressing the B Button will exit the menu.

PPU Version Check

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Go over the removed voice clips (the title screen, Jo transforming at the beginning of a stage, etc.).

Naturally, the title logo received a complete overhaul, and the copyright info was edited to reflect the change in publishers and Nintendo of America's approval. The game's Japanese title roughly translates to "Don't Give In! Magic Kendo".

Due to Nintendo of America's content policies regarding depictions of tobacco and drug use, Mr. Doro's cigar was replaced with a coffee cup when he was localized into Osaki Yoritomo... a.k.a. Bob.

Jo (known as Mai in the Japanese version) had her legs recolored from flesh-colored to red for the US version, effectively giving her tights and making her outfit slightly more modest in the process.
