Version Differences

Five different versions are known to exist:

  • The original Famicom release.
  • The first arcade release, Kira Kira Star Night AC, released alongside the original Famicom version.
  • A special version of the Famicom release, Kira Kira Star Night DX: Tournament Edition, given as a prize for a highscore tournament held before the game's release.
  • A different version of the Famicom release, Kira Kira Star Night: Furusato Nouzei Fujimino-ban, given as a gift to people who gave at least a ¥12,000 donation through the Furusato Nouzei tax program to the city of Fujimino, Saitama.
  • The second arcade release, Kira Kira Star Night exa.

Logo alterations aside...

  • Tournament Edition gives Fami-chan a new outfit and pose, though she no longer animates.
  • AC adds a credit system and changes the copyright date to 2017.
  • Fujimino-ban moves the copyright info to the right and updates the year to 2018.
  • exa again uses the credits system, along with updating the copyright info to reflect the new publisher and year.
