A nice twist on the standard tactical RPG formula that makes use of the DS touch-screen to draw runes. It has a Japan-only Wii sequel, Takt of Magic.

Event Viewer

Use the following Action Replay code with the US/EUR Version and load a save while holding Select. A menu appears, with the different endings and all the events from the game. To scroll down the list, use the D-Pad.

Unused Graphics

There is a set of three unused mugshots, which appear to be low resolution. They do not have any used better quality version. One is obviously a placeholder with Japanese writing on it (ヤミ "yami", i.e. darkness), but the girl design differs from the one used in the final game.

This is one of the used mugshots for Isaac, for comparison.

Isaac, and an early version of the girl but with her having grey hair, have also a set of leftover early battle graphics, along with some for little mook monsters. They seem to be very incomplete, lacking the motion lines, in-between frames and other details.

Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Add them--seems like the files that match this description are in the chr directory ad all start with test.

Development Text

In the mb directory, there is a file called readme.txt that is present in the US and Europe releases. The file contents are the same between those two, but this file is absent completely in the Japanese release.

Cacti speak Japanese.
...But what does it mean?

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Check out the file magic.bnr in the Japanese release--there are repeated patterns of TAITO CORP. and ロストマジック with nullbytes and new lines. Does the header before that mean or do anything?
