This is a sub-page of Metal Slug XX (PlayStation Portable).

To access the debug menu in the game, create a text file according to the region of the game used, enter the following code into it and rename the extension as .ini; both PPSSPP emulator and CWCheat app can read the files.

Hold the Select Button and press the Start button to pause the game, and press again the debug menu. Press X to select and Circle to cancel (reverse if playing on the JP version). Pressing just the Start button during the pause screen will advance one frame.

A lot of the same features are carried over from Metal Slug 7. The dipswitch options are spread across three windows.

Option Translation Comment
ムテキ Invincibility Enables invincibility to the player. Doesn't protect player from crushing death or bottomless pits, however.
ムセイゲン POWガン Unlimited Ammunition Grants unlimited ammunition to the player.
ムセイゲン グレネード Unlimited Grenades Grants unlimited grenades to the player. Also applies to the vehicles they are in.
ムセイゲン TIME Unlimited Time Freezes the stage timer.
Dボタン、テキ ゼンメツ D Button, Enemy Destruction Destroy everything on the screen - which includes killing enemies, freeing prisoners and destructible scenery. The D in the name is an artifact, since said button no longer exist from Metal Slug 7 onwards. Pressing the L shoulder button in-game will activate this effect instead.
ムセイゲン ラッシュ ブラスター Unlimited Rush Blaster The coin-drop score bonus gauge will not deplete.
レンシャ Rapid Fire Holding down A will result in automatic fire.
1INTモード 1INT Mode Game speed is doubled.
BGM OFF BGM OFF Turns off the background music once a new screen is loaded in.
TIME 00 TIME 00 Reduces the stage timer to zero and instantly kill the player. This function will will continue until it is turned off.
プレイヤー キョウセイ DEATH Forced Player DEATH Instantly kill the player.

VIEW INFOMATION VIEW INFOMATION Enables invincibility to the player. Doesn't protect player from crushing death or bottomless pits, however.
VIEW PA ポイント VIEW PA Point Shows the player's respawn point.
VIEW ATTACK RECT VIEW ATTACK RECT Shows the "attack" hitbox in red and white rectangles. Red denotes harmful objects, while white shows the range where enemies will perform melee attacks.
VIEW BODY RECT VIEW BODY RECT Shows hitbox of objects that will react to damage. Yellow rectangles show objects that can be walked through (enemy soldiers, prisoners, etc) while blue rectangle denotes solid objects.
VIEW PUSH RECT VIEW PUSH RECT Shows hitbox of sprites that the player cannot walk through, such as tanks or larger enemies. Denoted by a green rectangle.
VIEW SCRNOUT RECT VIEW SCRNOUT RECT Shows "interaction" hitboxes. Yellow rectangles are for hostiles (showing the range where a soldier will stop to knife you, for example), pink rectangles are for passive objects (prisoners or interactive scenery), while pink lines that stretch from objects to the player are to determine pathfinding for wandering prisoners, whether the target is in range for projectile-shooting enemies, and so on.
VIEW GEO SCROLL A VIEW GEO SCROLL A VIEW GEO SCROLL A denotes static background collision with deep-pink/purple lines.
VIEW GEO SCROLL B VIEW GEO SCROLL B VIEW GEO SCROLL B displays collision with sprite-based platforms using light-pink lines.
"PAUSE" ヒョウジ OFF "PAUSE" Indicator OFF Removes the flashing PAUSE caption when active.
ザンコク ヒョウジ Display Brutality Changes the color of blood.
DIFF LEVEL DIFF LEVEL Changes the difficulty level from 1 to 8.

Option Translation Comment
ガメンサイズ ベンコウ モード Shrunk Screen Mode Zooms out the screen and offers pixel-accurate visuals. This option would also show objects and enemies load in where it's usually unseen when this option is turned off.
タテガメン プレイ モード Tall Screen Mode Rotates the screen 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Toggle in the menu is disabled.
サュウ ハンテン プレイ モード Mirror Mode Flips the screen horizontally, excluding the HUD. Directional controls are affected as well. Option is partially broken as the background is rotated 90 degrees clockwise in rectangular tiles.
4:3モード 4:3 Mode Shrinks down the screen to 256x180. Doesn't seem to work.
ブラー モード Blur Mode Applies a motion blur to the screen. Toggle in the menu is disabled.
サイダイキド Maximum Brightness Adjusts the brightness to sprite-accurate levels.
オブジェクト ヒョウジOFF Object Display OFF Disables all sprite objects.
ハイクイヒョウジOFF Background Graphics OFF Disables all background graphics.
FIXヒョウジOFF Fixed Graphics OFF Disables all HUD graphics, including the debug menu.
トウバイヒョウジ True Scale Graphics Zooms in the screen to pixel-accurate size, but this feature seems to be broken.
アンチエイリアス Anti-Alias Applies anti-aliasing. Doesn't seem to work.
