Music

Early Water Island Colossal Sound

In the files of the 3.9.3 update, there was an early version of the Water Island Colossal's sound, which lacked bubbles and other small changes.

Prototype Dandidoo Sound (Tribal Island)

A prototype sound for Dandidoo in Tribal Island, being sung by Dave Kerr, composer of My Singing Monsters. It was mistakenly left in the game when Tribal Island first released and was heard in-game at the time. It was quickly removed from the game via a patch, and replaced with the used sound.

Unused Noggin Second Track (Faerie Island)

Noggin on Faerie Island has an unused second track that can never be heard in-game, even in the Recording Studio, due to its info being replaced by the first track. The track uses the same beat used for Drumpler's sound on the same island.

Mythical Island

G'joob

G'joob's first track on Mythical Island is longer in the games files. The unused half is the same as the used half except the beginning has the note from the end of the used half carried over. This part isn't in the Recording Studio due to G'joob's playing animation only being for the used part

Strombonin

Strombonin's first track on Mythical Island, like G'joob, is longer in the games files. The extension of the sound has it looping the used half but with an extra note at the beginning. This part isn't in the Recording Studio due to Strombonin's playing animation only being for the used part.

Cranchee

Cranchee on Mythical Island has an unused second track. This track doesn't appear in the Recording Studio. However, it does appear in the official Mythical island Remix towards the end of the song.

An earlier version of Cranchee's first track that was in the game for a short while after Cranchee was released but changed a few days after. Its pitch is up an octave from the current sound and says "dimdo" instead of "dimbo". It was likely changed due to sounding more like "boodap-badimdo," unlike what the bio says.

Magical Nexus

Rooba

Rooba has a leftover fifth track on Magical Nexus, which is identical to it's fourth track but excluding the rise-up in the beginning. This is currently not used in-game and cannot be seen in the recording studio.

Fiddlement

Like Rooba, Fiddlement also has an unused third track which lacks the rise-up of the previous track. This is currently not used in-game and cannot be seen in the recording studio.

Memory Game Sounds

Prototype Dermit Memory Game Sound

In the 1.4.0 APK for My Singing Monsters, there was an unused memory game sound presumably for Brump. It has now been confirmed by Dave Kerr that it was an unmixed Dermit, and Brump has always said “Wake up the Wublins.” This being in place of Brump indicates that Dermit was once planned to be part of the 5 release Wublins instead of Brump.

Prototype Thwok Memory Game Sound

In the same version as the Dermit memory game sound, there was an early version of Thwok, where its tracks are just placeholder sounds for Steve Clark (Sam Clark's dad) to perform. This means that it uses a virtual instrument rather than a live recording. The specific virtual instrument is apparently from HALion Sonic SE Pro, with the preset name "Acoustic Bass VX".

Unused Tutorial Voice Lines

Only in the mobile version, there are 12 unused Furcorn voice lines for the tutorial. According to Dave Kerr, the composer for MSM and voice actor for Furcorn, there was some controversy to adding voice lines for Furcorn, which may be why these were scrapped.

Movie Horn

An unused movie horn sound that was in the game from versions 3.7.0 to 3.7.2 and was removed in version 3.8. It was likely intended to play during the colossal awakening cutscene.

References to Missing Sounds

Glowl's Nonexistent Fire Oasis Track 2

There are references to a track 2 for Glowl on Fire Oasis in versions before the release of Fire Oasis, but the sound currently only exists in the soundtrack.

Poppette's Nonexistent Track 2 (Psychic Island)

In the .midi of Psychic Island on old versions, there were tracks for a track 2 for Poppette. Due to the sound and animation files for this not existing, it instead played track 1 and used the standard idle animation.

Tribal Island Castle Bass

The .mid file for Tribal Island has tracks for a castle bass, despite a castle not appearing on Tribal Island. These sounds don't exist in the game files, though they can be heard in the official soundtrack.

Ethereal and Wublin Composer Island Sound References

There are bin files relating to Double Elemental Ethereals and Wublins on Composer Island, despite not existing on the island. Ethereals later ended up being added to The Colossingum and My Singing Monsters Composer, with Wublins possibly being added in the future. Below is a list of all the monsters that have these bin files.

Early Amber Island Monster Placements

When wave 2 of Amber Island released, its midi contained tracks for monsters that hadn't yet released. Some of these had early placements for the monsters. Stogg originally had 2 tracks, PongPing originally placed during the first Yelmut verse and the second half of the second Yelmut verse, and Krillby originally played at the beginning of the song and around the second Yelmut verse, seemingly having a completely different sound than the final.
