Development Programs

File: CaesarsWorldBoxing DebugPrograms.zip (55 KB) (info)

Among the game's files are two unused folders, cmds and sys. Within them are various development programs for an unknown operating system (likely OS-9), meant to be used with a computer or a CD-i development kit. A complete set with extra programs (dump and rename) can be found in the French version of Caesars World of Boxing, another Philips P.O.V. game.

Inside the cmds folder are the following files:

  • copy - Copies data between two specified paths
  • debug - A general code/memory debugger
  • del - Deletes specified files
  • dir - Lists the contents of a directory
  • iniz - Attaches an unspecified device
  • link - Links a module in memory
  • list - Lists one or more file(s)
  • load - Loads a module into memory
  • unlink - Unlinks a module from memory

The only file within sys is errmsg which, as expected, contains a list of error messages.
