Unused Star Collect Animation Settings

There are some unused star collection animation settings which may be leftovers from early levels or level designs.

The animations:

  • 0: Zoom in when the player thrusts the star in the air
  • 1: Rotates to face the "pause menu" view (the view with param1=0xXX07) and zooms out
  • 2: Stays still. Used for some VS Mode stars.
  • 3: Spins around.
  • 4: Stays still. Used for some "save prompt" stars.
  • 5: Goes crazy.

Multiple
All of the maps, apart from the Goomboss, Big Boo and Bowser maps, have mission 0 (the 100-Coin Star) set to the usual value of 4. Although this may not suggest anything other than that the developers duplicated some data.
