Unused Customizations

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Put the bounds items into the galleries within the section below.
  • Get images for unused customizations for 80s Action Hero and All-Star.
  • Get screenshots of the Festive Cappy and Voodoo Mask variations.
  • Provide background information regarding other unused costumes if necessary.

Hats, Accessories, and Costumes

Peashooter

Disco Pea: Disco Pea was initially planned to be one of the many items sold in Rux's Emporium for Rainbow Stars. Despite it's official appearance in a developer live stream back in December 2019, Disco Pea was never released to the public.

Super Disco Baller: A purple variation of the Disco Pea costume. The costume is referred to as "DiscoTwitch" internally. This name led data-miners to speculate that the costume would've been given out during a promotional event from Twitch, as there has also been a TwitchSDK found in the game when the costume was first discovered.

Kernel Corn

Night Cap

Snapdragon

Cactus

Acorn & Oak

Sunflower

Foot Soldier

Super Brainz

Skunk Brainz: This is a skunk-themed Super Brainz costume that has been datamined from the game since it's release. There was speculation that this would've released in the Complete Edition for the Nintendo Switch after the Plants vs. Zombies Instagram account posted promotional material featuring the unreleased costume. Despite this, the costume still remains unreleased in both versions of the game.

80s Action Hero

All-Star

Space Cadet

Engineer

Wizard

Universal

Crown of Indifference

A universal hat that looks similar to the Everlasting Crown from Garden Warfare 2. It's possible that it could've been used as a reward for completing all of character challenges or a hidden challenge.

As the name implies, the Crown of Indifference would’ve provided commentary about the player’s game like the Everlasting Crown, only with well indifference rather then excitement.

Crowning Achievement

A purple and silver variation of the unused Crown of Indifference universal hat. It not exactly oblivious what the crown would’ve been like personality-wise, but it likely would’ve more enthusiastic the Crown of Indifference.

Hula Doll

An unused universal hat. This might have been a reward for completing all of the character challenges in a certain month, but was scrapped in favor of a different hat.

Cool Penguin

Another unused universal hat.

Bounds Items

Every playable character except for Wildflower and TV Head has customization options that outline a body part's bounding box. They will either appear with solid colors or as translucent. Below are all of the bounds customization items as seen in the customization screen.
