This page details pre-release information and/or media for Bubba 'n' Stix (Genesis).

Seika trailer

There is a trailer of the game by Seika[1] that shows some peculiar things. It takes place solely on Alien Forest.

General

  • There exists some sort of eight-direction free-movement mode. The player in the trailer toggles it on and off a number of times.
  • There's also an invincibility mode, where if Bubba's health drops to 0, nothing happens, though his lives icon still shows him X-eyed.

Graphics

  • The red floating alien enemy that spits projectiles downward has a different spitting animation. I spits forcefully horizontally instead of the finished game's simple mouth-opening animation.
  • Collecting an alien score pickup does not spawn any particle effects.
  • There are no leaf particles blowing in the wind.

Level design

  • The section to the left of the starting point has a green alien score pickup at ground level and then a red one with some dot alien pickups on the ledge to the left. In the finished game the green and red ones aren't placed here, and the dot ones are positioned differently.
  • The section with the first red spitting alien mentioned above has a boulder before it that's sort of close to the edge. In the finished game, this boulder is right on the edge and has Waldo next to it.
  • The section with Zitt 'n' Zott, where the player must throw Stix from afar to one of them, is missing the aforementioned duo.
  • There are no bush alien enemies.
  • The checkpoint alien pickup is missing (although it's possible it's already been collected earlier due to the trailer player's haphazard movements).
  • None of the walls have holes for Bubba to stick Stix into to serve as a platform.

Others

  • Some of the blue bouncy alien enemies bounce up way before they hit the floor.
