Despite being just the Jaguar game with a few tweaks, the 3DO Doom was meant to be completely different from the other ports at the time.

When the 3DO port of Doom was first announced, the game's publisher Art Data Interactive (specifically the CEO Randy Scott) promised new levels, new weapons, and FMV cutscenes for after completing a level. According to this version's sole developer, Rebecca Heineman, the assets for some of these things were made. Only art was ever made for the new items, however, and no coding was ever done as Scott just assumed they could slap .jpeg files into the code and all of it would just work.

While none of these assets have been made public, a behind-the-scenes photo of one of the FMV cutscenes was posted by Heineman on Twitter.
