This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

This page details pre-release information and/or media for Dynamite Headdy (Genesis).

Hmmm...
To do:
Magazine Source There's probably a bit more to document about this one, and after that it's best to try and search for other magazines.

  • The running puppets are blue. They were likely changed to pink due to blending in with the wave background.
  • The health meter has no "H" letter within it and is slightly different even compared to April proto as it appears to lack a black outline for some parts of it. The top part was also redrawn slightly for the April proto.

  • The first boss fight used a repetitious pattern of the most basic tiles for the flooring, probably because the others hadn't been drawn yet. It also lacked any "Scene 1-1" boards.

Three Friends

  • The background is different, including building silhouettes in the background. The clocktower used to be a bit thinner. The second, more wooden building has "XX" wood paneling, a different door, and doesn't sink into the background as much at the bottom. The muscle men also lacked some definition with shadows, such as on the face.
  • The foreground has a different ground altogether, including a lack of any sort of cloth fabric meant to represent grass, different construction beams propping everything up, and no jaggy bottoms to the bricks. The lamp posts also are flipped the other direction and have more ridges in their poles, lacking the vertical thing sticking out from the top or the thicker base, as well as any sign designating the stage number, although one has a smaller, bare wooden sign.
  • The "TOWN" sign was a little different, not having as rough wooden damage on the right side and featuring a bigger nail in the bottom center. It also had a blue part to its base and lacked the diagonal support beam to the left.

  • The building to the right was redrawn in general.

  • The "IN" sign is higher up with some different paneling at the top, while the wooden paneling to the sides is missing. The door appears taller and thinner too, although that may be due to the image resolution.
  • It's possible the yellow head at the top moved up and down since it appears to be obscured behind its body.
