Pre-Release Music
A lot of soundtrack was cut during the development process.
Scrapped Tracks
Tape - Beams
This track was used in the Hotline Miami 2 Teaser and in 2013's demo version main menu. It was replaced with "The Green Kingdom - Untitled" sometime later. Interestingly, the filename for the final version's menu theme is stored as "beams.ogg", suggesting that it was a late cut.
Salvia Plath - Bardo States
This track is referred to as "beams2.ogg" in the pre-release version's game files. It is unknown where it was going to be used, but judging by the file name, in the main menu. It is also unknown when it was cut.
Trizzle - WouJuno
This song was supposed to be played in Pig Butcher's apartment during Final Cut's intro. It was replaced with Sjellos - Chamber of Reflections, because the author of the song never contacted the developers about licensing it.
Richard (Original)
Original version of Richard track, supposed to be played wherever "Richard" plays in the retail game. The song was made by Dennaton (The Developers of Hotline Miami) and used some samples from the song "Remains as a Burning Coal" by KETEV. It was replaced with "Life Companions - Richard" for unknown reasons.
Cannibal and Cannibal2
Modified versions of Riz Ortolani - Love With Fun. It is unknown where they were going to be used.
Requiem and Requiem2
Artist and real song name are unknown.
Mad Animals - Mandalas In My Coffee
Found in leaked playlist. It played in the intro before Ambush (Called The Ambush in the prototype) in the 2013 prototype version. It was replaced with El Huervo - Rust later.
Old Future Fox Gang - Don't Cry For Me
Found in leaked playlist. It is unknown why it was cut.
Jungle3
Artist and real song name are unknown. It is probably based off Light Club - Apropos, as it uses samples from it. Judging by the file name, it was supposed to play somewhere in The Soldier's levels.
Teddy Pentagram
Teddy Pentagram appears in the early version's game files as Teddy.ogg. It is most likely an earlier version of Teddy Pentagram by Pharaoh T.
Venom
Artist and real song name are unknown.
Tempel - Disclosure
Referred to as Tempel.ogg. Plays on the "Game Select" screen of the PS3 version, but is nowhere to be found in the soundtrack or the PC version.
Benny Smiles - Bad Ending
This track was finished when all the music for the game was already chosen, therefore it was never used.
Early versions Of Tracks
The tracks leaked that are from the final game have different music
Run - IAMTHEKIDYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN
The track has a different intro and ending.
El Huervo - Rust
The track, has an early baselines.
Scattle - Bloodlines/Pursuit
This is the most different track due to two things, having a grittier base sounds and a different track name which people got confused and mistaken it as Gesaffelstein - Pursuit leading to a rumor that Gesaffelstein was supposed to be one of the tracks. The file name appears in the final version but has the same music data as the final.
