Scrapped Items

The Infamous Shotgun Model

According to a Reddit post by Se7enanimator, Berkan wanted him to animate a model of an AA12 that he (Berkan) claimed to have a low-poly and a high-poly version of, but it turned out to be 2,000,000,000 polygons (yes, that's two billion) and nearly fried Se7en's PC. One has to wonder if Berkan saw this and was trying to top it.

On top of that, apparently Berkan thought this model was of an AA12. It's actually a Vepr-12.

Somebody apparently actually managed to find the shotgun's model, which can be found here.

Erik Rivera's HDTF work

Erik Rivera was one of the modelers for HDTF that was tasked with mostly creating weapon models for HDTF. In the final game most if not all of the weapon and character models are bought and most of the models modeled from ground up didn't even got used. Erik Rivera's artstation includes some of the weapon models that he was tasked with creating.

Gonzo850's portfolio

Portfolio of another modeler similar to Erik Rivera's artstation, Gonzo850 was another modeler tasked with creating various props and weapons for the game. Some of his work can be found on his site, but most if not all of his work is probably lost to time due to many devs deleting their original files.

Rancor's animation reel video

Uploaded on Rancor's channel, video showing off weapons animated by Rancor for HDTF. There are various changes that can be noted in this video:

  • All of the weapons are using temp arms in the video which are apparently just fuse arms without any UV map
  • The axe is seen using a different model that's made from ground up instead of being bought off tubosquid like in retail game
  • The M67 grenade is seen with different textures
  • The MP5 is seen with a different textures and model
  • The NVG is seen with different textures
  • The M16 is has a totally different model with a carry handle that's never seen in the retail game, but a version with textures can be found on Erik Rivera's ArtStation
  • While not seen in the video or anything, Rancor's files also include an early version of the AK47 and unfinished anims for the Rem700 which could be a hint that Rancor was probably gonna animate them at one point but forgot about them

According to some comments, the video also used to have music in it but it was later edited out cause it wasn't really fitting according to Rancor.
