Stage 5
This image taken from the back of the NES box depicts an early version of stage 5 (second half), with an inclined corridor, the bouncing-ball enemy that was made blue and moved to much earlier on in the stage, and a scrapped brick background pattern.
SAMPLE Version
A sample version of the game Salamander released to Japanese store retailers as a demo (currently undumped) features a few differences from the final version.
Music
There is a song hidden within the SAMPLE version that is unused in the demo itself, and is completely absent from the final version of the game. It is a straightforward arrangement of the song "Combat" from the arcade version of Life Force.
