This page details pre-release information and/or media for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
A Twitter user named Hey1mJay showed off some early screenshots of Garden Warfare 2 https://twitter.com/Hey1mJay/status/1597059186105667584
Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

Imp's Flying Mech

Imps originally had a flying mech, as shown in the E3 2015 trailer for Garden Warfare 2, but it didn't replace the mech in the final game because that appeared too. It is seen in the trailer when the Imp first appears and is ready to fight. The flying mech would've most likely been an alternate ability. Justin Wiebe confirmed the reason this was removed was because due to map complications, indicating that the flying mech would bump into many objects it would be hard to control. It still has files in the final game, but is extremely unfinished and buggy.

Captain Deadbeard

Captain Deadbeard originally had his Parrot Pal and Cannon Rodeo ability controls swapped. It was originally like this due to the fact that his Cannon Rodeo acts like the Pea Gatling/Sunbeam, but as he is a sniper and the Cactus has her drone ability control as the middle control, they later decided to swap the two controls.

Citron

The Citron originally had his primary weapon have a different firing style. This can be seen most clearly in the E3 2015 trailer for Garden Warfare 2. The firing style resembles a burst shooting weapon, instead of an automatic firing weapon. It is unknown why this was changed, but it is likely to make him more like the All-Star. It was left in the files in the first version of the game, but was removed shortly after, being used as a base for Toxic Citron weirdly enough.

Along with this, after the Citron's weapon firing style got changed in late 2015, he also originally had ammo in his weapon, having to reload. This was changed possibly to make him even more like the All-Star.

BrainPop Vending Machine

In the Multiplayer Beta for the game, Super Duper Brainz' Fortress of Heroism and Muscles had a BrainPop vending machine next to the SuperBrains Gift Shop. This vending machine was removed from the files before release, most likely to avoid any legal trouble with BrainPOP.

June 2015 AI Notes

Hmmm...
To do:
Transliterate the text.

PvZGW2Prerelease-2015AINotes.png

An ex-PopCap employee would post on the r/PvZGardenWarfare subreddit hand drawn personal notes about the AI from June 2015. The user would provide an explanation of the graph in a comment.

Characters could have a multi-curve graph assigned when making choices. A random number generation, paired with the current intensity of the situation, would result in a point on the more horizontal line. This would then put the character into one of 3 actions: Fallback, Flank, or Direct Attack.

I can't remember if that actually shipped with the game though... it was just an idea in my head at the time.
