Ratchet: Deadlocked was announced on April 8th 2005. It was released on October 25th 2005.

E3 2005 Trailer

This is the E3 trailer for the game. There are a few noticeable differences.

  • The Eviscerator doesn't have his knee pads.
  • Ace Hardlight has a different missile glove compared to what he wears in the final game.
  • Merc and Green originally had legs.
  • The Landstalker had different missile sound effects.

Tokyo Game Show 2005 Trailer

This is an early trailer from the 2005 Tokyo Game Show event. It shows off many glaring differences.

  • The HUD was different.
  • The health bar was different.
  • The weapon icons look slightly different.
  • The number text for the health bar, ammo and bolts was different.
  • The minimap is different.
  • The robot ability box is a different shape.
  • There is no level text for the weapons.
  • The EXP text is different.
  • The EXP bar is smaller and harder to see.
  • The Weapon EXP bar is different and in a different position.
  • The Landstalker's health bar is different.
  • The Flail Whip has no hit sound effect.
  • The Electric Mine Launcher has a different sound effect.
  • Ratchet doesn't grunt when hit.

E3 2005 Showcase Footage

This is demo footage of the game from E3 2005. It shows off two levels. It has many differences which can be seen in previous and future videos.

  • The HUD was different.
  • The health bar was different.
  • The weapon icons look slightly different.
  • The number text for the health bar, ammo and bolts was different.
  • The got ammo text is different.
  • The minimap is different.
  • The robot ability box is a different shape.
  • There is no level text for the weapons.
  • The EXP text is different.
  • The EXP bar is smaller and harder to see.
  • The Weapon EXP bar is different and in a different position.
  • The Landstalker's and Puma's health bar is different.
  • The target on the mini-map is a circle as opposed to a star in the final game.
  • There is a bar visible when the robots are hacking the orb.
  • The challenge timer and target text is different.

This is footage from E3 2005. It focuses on Story Mode. It has a few odd and noticeable differences.

  • There is no HUD.
  • There is a strange box at 0:21.
  • There is a bar visible at 0:25 when the robots are hacking the orb.
  • Some gun visual effects are different.
  • Music is missing in some levels.

This is more footage from E3 2005. It has more differences. It focuses on both Multiplayer and Story Mode.

  • There is no HUD.
  • There is a bar visible above the robots.
  • Music is missing in some levels.
  • Commentary and information text can be seen.
  • There is no line launcher grind sound effect.

Early Online Multiplayer Footage

This is some early footage of Conquest Mode on Planet Orxon dated 7th May 2005. It matches what was shown in the Tokyo Game Show trailer. It has many of the same differences but also has new ones for this mode.

  • You have health number text beside your health bar. This was removed in the final game.
  • The score HUD was slightly different.
  • The node upgrade text box was a darker red colour as opposed to bright red in the final game.
  • The vote for node upgrade text was different. There is no surrounding text box around it either.
  • The node upgrade box was in a different position.
  • The upgrade acquired text was different.

Early Online Multiplayer Footage 2

More early footage this time for Capture The Flag Mode on Planet Shaar also dated 7th May 2005. It has most of the same differences as the previous footage with some new ones for this mode.

  • The Score HUD was different.
  • The flag picked up and flag dropped text is different. There is no surrounding text box around it either.
  • The respawn text is different.

More early footage this time for Juggernaut Mode on Planet Kronos also dated 7th May 2005. It has most of the same difference as previous footage with some new ones for this mode.

  • The Score HUD was different.
  • There is "Prepare To Die" text visible. This was removed in the final game.
