This page details prerelease information and/or media for Shrek SuperSlam (GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Windows).

Shrek Superslam was announced at E3 2005. It was released the following November.

Ann Mikulka's Website

Animator Ann Mikulka posted a few animations she did for the game on her portfolio website, two of which were cut from the game.

Donkey Squashed

An animation depicting Donkey crashing against the screen.

Troll Club

A cut troll character who appeared in the Shrek 2 game, but not SuperSlam.

E3 2005 PS2 Trailer

The majority of the footage seen here was reused for the final game's intro, even though many differences are visible.

  • Prince Charming uses Shrek's scream when being thrown.
  • The Hammer weapon glows blue.
  • Attacks have different sound effects.
  • Characters have placeholder scream sound effects.
  • Gingy talks during a match.
  • Donkey's running SLAM effect is a different color.
  • The knock down effect looks different.
  • Puss In Boots' SLAM stun animation has a different sound effect.
  • Gingy's SLAM move has a bigger range.

E3 2005 Footage

This is footage of the game from E3 2005 that was found on a French MicroMania E3 2005 DVD. There are a lot of very noticeable differences.

  • Character icons are in a different position.
  • The timer has a different design.
  • Slams are counted during gameplay as opposed to appearing on the results screen in the final game.
  • You fill up a bar to perform your SLAM move as opposed to filling up the word SLAM in the final game.
  • Ready text is different.
  • Go text uses Shrek's ear as a design for the letter G. This was kept in the PSM Demo after the game was already released.
  • Gingerbread Man's SLAM finisher looked very different.
  • Puss in Boots has a pre-SLAM ready animation.
  • Puss in Boot's SLAM finisher looked very different.
  • Times Up text is different.
  • The results screen was very basic.

Second PS2 Trailer

Another trailer for the PlayStation 2 version, with some bizarre differences.

  • Character photos are different, Captain Hook in particular.
  • The timer design is different.
  • Fiona Ogre's SLAM singing sound effect is different.
  • Characters have bio screens(!)
  • The Xbox version's Y-button command for performing SLAM moves can be seen.

Tale of The Tape Trailer

This is another trailer for the PlayStation 2 version. It shows off some gameplay. It has many of the same differences as the second trailer whilst having its own.

  • Pinocchio's scream is present.
  • Pinocchio's punch sound effects are different.
  • There are more character bio screens.
  • The Black Knight's SLAM move is unfinished at different points of the video.
  • Puss in Boots SLAM effect is different.
  • The Xbox version's Y-button command for performing SLAM moves can be seen.

Third PS2 Trailer

This is another trailer for the PlayStation 2 version. This shows off Slamageddon Mode. It resembles the final game but has some weird differences.

  • Every character has a placeholder scream sound effect when hit.
  • There is a blue aura effect when throwing weapons.
  • There is no usage meter when using the ham hock weapon.
  • The gumball machine glass in Gingerbread Manor is a different colour.
  • Donkey's air attack effect at 0:15 is different.
  • The camera on the Beanstalk stage moves from 0:46-0:48.
  • Press T to slam text is visible at 0:49.
  • Luna's SLAM move looks different at 0:49.

GameCube Trailer

Many aspects are far different to what has been shown before and the final game.

  • Luna's SLAM move looks different.
  • Red Riding Hood's SLAM move is different.
  • There is a strange powerup that can be seen on the Trophy Room Stage.
  • Robin Hood's SLAM move is different.
  • "Press T to Slam" text can be seen.
  • Character sound effects are different.

Second GameCube Trailer

This is another trailer for the GameCube version. It's pretty much the final game but with some differences.

  • Gingy talks during a match.
  • The Shaba Games logo at the end of the video is different.
  • The Amaze Entertainment logo at the end of the video is present, even though they didn't work on the game.

The intro from the final game is filled with pre-final footage, with a number of differences.

  • Donkey talks when hit.
  • Some characters' sound effects are placeholder stock sounds or completely different.
  • The Hammer and Cannon have different sound effects when used.
  • Fiona Ogre's SLAM singing sound effect is different.
