Proto:Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (GameCube)/Day Mission

This is a sub-page of Proto:Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (GameCube).

The day mission is a secret mission in the demo, also taking place on Pirates Island. It can be accessed by holding A + Start on the title screen. There is no direct correlation with any level from the final game, but it's closest to Mission 7 Chick and the Game Salesman, with the largest difference being that in the proto you play as Billy while in the final you play as Chick.

The prototype level has more fruit available than the level in the final, considering the need to hatch and use an Egg Animal early on in the level.

  • After landing onto the main area from the slope section, there's a chick with a red shirt running around in a circle that gives you a tip when talking to it.

  • There are more chicks running around in circles and giving helpful tips when talked to.
  • There's a basic egg spawn without a nest.
  • A tree is missing near the wall.

Level Start

Upon moving forward slightly at the start of the level, Menie-Funie talks to Billy. This dialog has no equivalent in the final.

Atop the hut where the pirates once lived,
there is an Emblem of Courage,
the symbol of bravery of the Chickens

First Gate

Upon approaching the first gate, the following dialog comes up.

That's a Driver Switch!
You can press it by doing a Egg Driver!

However, to get to the switch,
you have to put out the fires
surrounding it first

Find an Egg Animal
with the power of Water,
put out the fire, and press the switch!

Despite the text saying to use water, which implies the player must use Clippen, the player can also use Richie, who uses ice, to put out the fires.
