Proto:Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare/HMSFusion 5 3 13
This is a sub-page of Proto:Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
A prototype of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was uploaded online on 9 September 2024. Codenamed Blacksmith and additionally incorrectly referred to as Call of Duty: Phantom (the working title for Call of Duty: Ghosts), it is a very early build of the game dated 3 May 2013, around a year and a half before release. The build is significantly far closer to the existing Ghosts codebase that the game forked off from, itself another fork of the earlier Modern Warfare 3 codebase.
It contains only one singleplayer mission (Fusion), along with a multiplayer map (Dam) that is not playable due to the lack of an applicable multiplayer game executable.

General Differences
- Gideon is named "Burke" in this prototype, and is voiced by a different voice actor.
- The build uses a placeholder HUD design that functions identically to its Modern Warfare 3 counterpart, the only difference being the addition of a futuristic look. Arial is used as the default font for practically all existing menu and HUD surfaces (excluding in-game subtitles, which use Verdana), as the respective in-game UI fonts have been stripped out of the build.
Fusion
The only playable mission in this build. Fusion is an early version of what would become the mission "Fission". This version of Fission has Mitchell lose his left arm in the end.
Weapons
M160
The cut M160 rifle makes an appearance in Fusion, being heavily modified with loads of attachments.
AK-47
The AK-47 from Modern Warfare 3 is used by KVA members in Fusion, using different attachments for different soldiers.
SMAW
The SMAW makes an appearance in this build as the "SMAW-10".
Leftover content from strip process
Most cinematics and voice lines originally intended for both Ghosts and Modern Warfare 3 are present in this build, although the former game's cinematics at this point in development only comprise of placeholder still images featuring concept art of the crater produced by the destruction of the Odin satellite during the game's opening sequence.
Additionally, voice lines and cinematics for other Advanced Warfare levels exist in this build, despite the relevant levels' fastfiles not being present at this stage in development.
