Proto:Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers

This page details one or more prototype versions of Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers.

This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

To do: Check if there is anything different from the final game Add release dates for the Japanese demo. Add images for comparing differences between the demo and the final game. Rip the trailer video files, if the trailers in the demo version are any different from the ones released online.

A one level demo version of the game was released to the E-Shop about 2 weeks before the final game's release on May 10, 2018, it's close to the final game but with minor differences.

Demo Lockouts

• The United States demo is limited to 30 uses, if those uses are up, the demo is no longer playable, while the Japanese demo allows unlimited play.
• The first level of the game where Dillon has to defeat Shield Bros while saving the player's trailer vehicle is the only playable level in this version, after the level is finished, the demo will end.
• Upon finishing the demo, a trailer for the game will appear.

Differences Between The Final Game

To do: Add comparison screenshots when possible, the demo rom is currently encrypted.

Title Screen

The Demo version's title screen is exactly like the final release, but with the word demo added to the game's logo.

Menu

The game menu has been simplified, with only 3 selections "Play Demo", "Watch Trailer", and "To Nintendo eShop

Unused Models

Most of these are still present in the final game.

A box with an axis in the middle of it.

A white sphere with "Vanpool" written on it.

Grocks

Folder 15 in H3D has only two files in it.

Being gunzokuboMdl.vpl and hkzbBarMdl.vpl

Appearing to be unused models for the classic Grock designs from the previous entry.

Unused Files

While most of the stuff from the final game has been cleaned out from the demo version, some leftover files from the final version are still present.

• Folder 23 in H3D has 7 parts of the Ultimate Weapon.
