Proto:Forza Horizon
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This page sucks. If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome. |
This page details one or more prototype versions of Forza Horizon.
A prototype build of Forza Horizon dated June 1, 2012. It may be the same build presented at that year's E3.
Unused Textures
Unused Heightmaps
Inside Media\UI\Textures\Horizon.zip, within the subfolder Map, is a heightmaps folder which does not exist in the retail build of the game. Surprisingly, there are three files in this folder:
- Colorado.xds - The region featured in the final game.
- LaSpezia.xds - A region of Liguria, Italy, most likely related to the unused map found in the final game.
- Sabah.xds - A region of Malaysia.
Airport Icon
Another subfolder in the Map folder is Icons, which features most of the typical graphics seen in the game such as events on the map, the player's arrow, and various others. An icon in this folder is airport.xds. The presence of this icon could suggest that the unused heightmaps were actually for separate regions which could be travelled between, as opposed to proposed ideas for a singular map.
