Contents
3/10/2007 Prototype
An earlier version titled Ivory Springs before it was later retooled, bearing close resemblance to Cave Story's art style.
- The main menu is very basic.
- Robin has a slide move instead of being able to crawl. She's also unable to charge her weapons, ground pound, or grab ledges.
- No menu system is implemented.
- The first boss looks rather different, resembling a large cutter blade rather then a saw wheel. The floor doesn't fall out from under Robin, instead platforms spawn for you to climb back up and backtrack instead.
- Using the wrench on a nut requires mashing the up and down directional keys, as opposed to just pressing the wrench button.
3/29/2011 Prototype
- Like the 2007 prototype, the game starts on a simple black screen with some options.
- The intro is unskippable.
- Tutorials are handled via text boxes rather then the final's visual diagrams.
- Robin's House is lacking a background behind the windows.
- The pause menu is very different, contained into one screen rather then the final's three.

- The save menu is much less elaborate as well, and there's 6 save slots as opposed to the final's 5.
- Robin's stomp attack is not implemented yet.
- There's an additional tutorial sign explaining how to shoot Robin's gun before the first enemy.
- The sign stating the road is closed during inspections has the same information, however it's preceded with a textbox saying:
"THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TO BE FOLLOWED BY ANY AND ALL CITIZENS. FAILURE TO COMPLY |
- The first treasure chest is red with rounded edges, rather then blue with a metallic frame.
- 'Technium' is called 'Electronium' in this build.
- Reaching the Technium chest to the upper right of Robin's House requires swinging with the wrench across a large gap. This was evidently deemed too difficult, so in all later builds you simply climb up from below its entrance instead.
10/20/2012 Prototype
A bit later prototype, with most of the same differences as the 2011 prototype unless otherwise noted.

- The main menu is much more detailed now, and the game is in widescreen as opposed to 4:3.
- Robin's House is still lacking a background behind the windows.

- The pause menu was reorganized a bit, removing the various stats and adding components to the left-hand side.
- Boxes are placed outside of Robin's house. This would later be changed to gravestones.
- The inspection road sign had its first dialog box removed, now matching final.
- Technium is now referred to as Technium like final.

- 2007: A lot more complex than later versions, requiring a lot of vertical climbing and some sliding to travel through.
- 2011: The rubble in the middle doesn't seem to exist, and the two chests are red instead of blue. There's also two help signs instead of one.
- 2012: Mostly the same as final structurally, but the chests are still blue, there's still two signs, and there's a very minor gap between some of the brick tiles near the start.
