Proto:LittleBigPlanet 3 (PlayStation 3)/LBP3 r570012
This is a sub-page of Proto:LittleBigPlanet 3 (PlayStation 3).
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
To do: Move some pieces from the game's beta page onto this page as they can be found in this build as well |
An early prototype of LittleBigPlanet 3 that was recovered from a PlayStation 3 development kit. With a build date of March 31st, 2014, this build predates the game's North American release by 7 months and 18 days.

General Differences
- Upon starting the game, the Pod Computer activates on its own, bringing up the main menu as soon as Sackboy lands. In the final game, the player has to manually activate it by pressing the Square button.
- The Quest Log is mapped to the Select button, rather than the Triangle button like in the final game.
- The Sackpocket has a number of differences to the final game.
- The Sackpocket is shaped like a back pocket, rather than a circle.
- It can hold up to eight unique items, rather than five.
- To select an item from the Sackpocket, the player holds down the Triangle button to keep the Sackpocket open, using the Left Stick to select an item and letting go of Triangle to close the Sackpocket and equip the highlighted item.
- Provided the level being played has them enabled, both the Sackpocket and the Quest Log can be accessed from the Popit in addition to the aforementioned shortcuts.
- OddSock's default movement speed is noticeably slower than in the final game. Pressing and holding R1 allows OddSock to sprint at top speed.
- Adventures have a number of differences to the final game in terms of how they're made and how they work.
- To create an Adventure, the player has to press the Square button on an empty crater and select "Create Adventure Planet". In the final game, there are three hexagon-shaped craters on the moon where the player simply presses the X button to create a new Adventure.
- Adventure Map customisation is rather limited. Stickers and Decorations work as expected, but changing the materials doesn't seem to do anything, and there is only one landscape style available.
User Interface Differences
The Pod
- The menus for "Store", "Social" and "More Stories" are all placeholders, with only a Back button being present in those menus. This makes accessing downloaded content impossible without using the debug menu.
- When viewing either the Adventure Planet or the Popit Puzzle planet, pressing R3 toggles between the standard planet-based level selection and a list-based level selection.
