  • The building textures are stretched slightly differently.
  • The shadows near the building were altered slightly.
  • Some of the grass textures on the background hills is stretched differently.
  • A bit of shadow is present on one of the background hills, though it's hard to see in-game. This was removed from the final game.
  • The shadows near one of the turnaround bumpers casts over the bumper. This was altered in the final game to remove the top shadows.

Textures

  • The arrow sign and noise texture in lc_comp1a aren't present, leaving in a white space. Since the arrow sign isn't present, the game instead uses the lower resolution arrows from the roundabout section for the arrowed walls.
    • In addition, the arrowed wall near the finish line has five arrows pointing instead of four.

  • In lc_comp2, a small registered symbol (®) is present on the Mario Kart logo in the roundabout sections. This was removed entirely from the final game.

  • Luig_multiUV_fix_ura - the texture used for showing shadows on the course - lacks a shadow for one of the giant mushrooms near the finish line.

  • Various checkpoint locations in the first roundabout were changed around.

  • The blimp (TMapObjSkyShip), sun (TLensFlare) and accompanying lens flare effect (TMapObjSun) are all present in multiplayer. The value that checks in which modes these objects should show up is set to 0x03 (singleplayer and multiplayer) instead of the final's 0x01 (singleplayer only).
  • The start and end point Y coordinates for camera 21 were modified slightly. The start point was changed from -15 to -25 and the end point was changed from 0 to 10.

  • The starting line's bow is a bit darker.
  • There's no shadows on the grass hill.
  • Some of the flower beds were moved slightly.
  • Although not visible here, some of the crates found near the water have slight texture differences around the edges.
  • The Nintendo billboard was replaced with a Delfino Fruits billboard. The Nintendo billboard can still be seen in the final game, during the Award Ceremony.
