Hmmm...
To do:
unfinishedhalloweenlevel2018.zip from Patreon Build collection (Internet Archive). This might go in "Tester Build", but seems right for it to be here.

The Halloween Demo of Pizza Tower was built on October 31st 2018 at 10:22. This demo features the Ancient Tower level and introduces the tutorial that remained for a big chunk of the game's development timespan. Some other improvements over the Early Test Build were also added that would become a main staple in the final game, such as holding a Superjump and retaining the fast momentum when turning during a Mach Run. Other than that, it's still a very different game.

Notably, this is the first build to feature music made by ClascyJitto (who went by Frostix at the time), as she was hired roughly a month before this build's release.

A download link to this build can be found here.

Unused Transformations

Super Hero Peppino

Windows-PizzaTower-spr credittransformation-12.png

Assuming it was a transformation as this was part of the spr_credittransformation series of sprites seen at the credits, this transformation would allow Peppino to fly around and break metal blocks. If Peppino made contact with spikes, he would lose the transformation. This was most likely for the cut "city" level or another taunt.

Unused Objects

Pepperman Bomb (obj_peppermanbomb)

PizzaTower Peppermanbomb.gif

Pepperman Bomb was part of the cut "Hard Pepperman" boss battle in Pizza Tower. These enemies appear in the unused Hard Mode Halloween Demo. Their behavior was pretty basic; they ran towards you and tried to explode in your face.

Bear Trap (obj_beartrap)

PizzaTower Beartrap.gif

PizzaTower press.png

This Bear Trap would have clamped down if Peppino made contact with it. To escape the Bear Trap, you would have to mash the jump button. The big red button was there to tell you to mash the jump button. This object can be seen both in the unused "floor1" and Ancient Tower Hard Mode levels.

Monster (obj_monster)

Pizzatowermonster.png

Monster, also known as the Ogre, is an enemy leftover from the Early Test Build This enemy moves around and, upon spotting the player, attempts to attack. If the player is hit by this enemy, they take damage and become stuck in a state where they cannot recover from being.

Smoll Monster (obj_smollmonster)

Pizzatowersmallmonster.png

A smaller version of Monster, another enemy left over from the Early Test Build, has the same function as obj_monster. If the player reaches Mach 2, they can defeat this enemy.

Pepperoni Goblin (obj_pepgoblin)

Pepgoblinpt.gif

The Pepperoni Goblin, left over from the Early Test Build, remains unchanged from that build but crashes if it touches any other enemy. This enemy wouldn’t be added until Blue Block Land.

Unused Levels

Ancient Tower: Hard Mode

Hmmm...
To do:
Replace video. This is from a prerelease build that has Hard Mode enabled by default.

A cut, untiled hard mode version of the Ancient Tower exists and is playable for the most part. This level is based on an earlier draft and was created while The Ancient Tower was being worked on. You have exactly 10 minutes to get to the top, beat Pepperman and run back to the entrance. But since Pizza Time is activated from the beginning, that doesn't stop the possibility of the player exiting the level from the get-go. It would be all for naught either way, as exiting this level will crash the game, rather than show Peppino's rank.

There are instances where the game can softlock. All the keydoors are missing a 2nd room target variable to the stairs cutscene (which also leaves Hlevel_transition_up and Hlevel_transition_up2 unused, even in hard mode), which results in the game sending you to the title screen and getting you stuck if you enter the same key door again.

The patch below will replace all entrances of the normal Ancient Tower to their hard mode counterparts, alongside fixing the softlock bug described above.

"floor1"

"floor1" is an unfinished level that gives you a very strict time limit with multiple pathways to the exit. This level was built after Early Test Build but before this build, so it's not entirely known what this level was supposed to be. It can be seen in a few early gameplay clips from September 2018.

The patch below will spawn you in this level.
