Selecting any of them starts the game in your room, with a Pokédex, 999999 Pokéyen, and a level 99 Venusaur; the options appear to differ in the player's name and gender (represented by the color of the option). Run-through-everything is also enabled. These preset "saves" aren't actually save files, as every time they are loaded, random values in the game (such as party Pokémon IVs & your trainer ID) are generated differently.

Hmmm...
To do:
Find out the differences between battle types 2 and 4, and how to get battle types 5, 6, and 7 to work.

By moving the cursor to the far right, you will switch to the page with your own party Pokémon. Starting the battle while on the opponent team's page results in the player being male, whereas they will be female if the battle is started while on the player's team's page.

If you press Select while your cursor is on any of the rows representing your own or the opponent's Pokémon, you will be able to change their moves.

Sound Test

A functional port of the Sound Test in R/S/E, including its subfeatures accessed by pressing L or R. It is misspelled as "SAUND CHECK".

You can switch between testing music and sound effects using the Up/Down directional buttons, and scroll the available sounds using Left/Right. Pressing A will play the selected sound.

By pressing L, you access the Sound Effect Panning Test. Here you can use Left/Right to select the sound effect to play and L/R to change the panning setting. Pressing A will play the sound. Pressing B will return to the main page of the sound test.

By pressing R, you can access the Pokémon Cry Test. Switch between parameters using Up/Down and increment/decrement values by 1 using Right/Left and by 10 using R/L

  • Voice - the cry of the Pokémon with that corresponding internal ID number
  • Volume - the volume at which the cry is played.
  • Panpot - affects the panning of the audio
  • Pitch - changes the pitch of the cry
  • Length - changes how long the cry plays for. Doesn't slow down or speed up the cry. If the length is set to shorter than the cry's length, the cry will be cut off early. If it is longer than the cry's length, the cry plays in full.
  • Release, Progress, Chorus - apply effects to the audio
  • Priority - cannot be changed

Pressing A plays the cry. Pressing Select toggles Stereo. Pressing B returns to the main page.

A full list of the sound effects and songs in the sound test, as well as the names used for them in the sound test, is found here.

RFU Test

Hangs the game, regardless of whether the GBA Wireless Adapter is connected.

Message Test

VerdeFoglia-Debug-message-test.png

Shows previews of any in-battle message.

  • Down - Increment by 1
  • Up - Decrement by 1
  • R - Increment by 10
  • L - Decrement by 10
  • A - Display selected text

There is no way to exit this menu without resetting. Additionally, pressing A on text 000 freezes the game.

Save Repair

Reloads the menu after a few seconds. Writes something to the save file. Does not appear to be related to the current-and-previous backup scheme.
