To do: Explore the differences in the contents of the trial with the final release (this is still mostly undocumented) A lot of the content found in the ‘dvdroot’ folder appears to be very similar (if not identical) to the final release. This would imply that this version is based on a “finished” build. Work on this page is currently on hold (see talk page for more info).

This is the trial/demo version of the PC release, and was released on Sega of America's website on November 9th, 2004. [1]. In this demo, only the first act of Team Sonic's Seaside Hill is playable.

This version predates the Japanese PC release by 8 days, the American PC release by 17 days and the European PC release by a month.

Differences

The title screen has been modified to make it clear that this is a trial version. Additionally, the background image is less bright than the final release.
