Madotsuki's Room

v0.04

Stop riding in the chair?
  • The parallax background for Madotsuki's balcony in the real world is determined by sending you to one of two maps. This was changed to a single map that randomly determines the background in v0.10.
  • NASU did not exist yet, so there is no game console next to the TV.
  • In both the real world and dream world, the TV cannot be turned on. There are no events scripted in it.
  • If you ride Madotsuki's desk chair in the dream world and try to put it back, the game will ask if you want to stop riding it.
    • This message notably uses three lines of text, which would fit into the 3-line message window that is unused in later versions.

v0.06

  • The game console is now in front of Madotsuki's TV in the real world, and NASU can be played.
  • The TV can now be turned on in both the real world and dream world.
  • The image displayed on the TV in the dream world is different. This image also exists in v0.10 on the same sprite sheet.
  • The desk chair in the dream world now behaves more similarly to v0.10, where it does not ask if you want to stop riding.
  • The KALIMBA TV Channel event did not exist yet.
v0.06 v0.07 onward
Yn006 dreamTV.PNG Yn010 dreamTV.PNG

v0.07

  • The TV in the dream world has a 1/8 chance of being turned on when going to sleep now, regardless of whether it was left on or off before. This is the only version with this feature.
  • The TV in the dream world now displays the same image as in v0.10.

v0.08

  • The KALIMBA TV channel event is now viewable.

The Nexus

v0.04

  • The background is a bit more bluish.
  • Since there are only 20 effects in v0.04, the effect eggs in the center are arranged a bit differently.

v0.06

Identical to v0.10.

v0.04 v0.06 onward

Forest World

v0.04

  • v0.04 has a purple gate leading to Hell. In v0.07, some trees were cleared out, and the gate was changed to take you to Face Carpet Plaza instead.

v0.07

Identical to v0.10.

v0.04/v0.06 v0.07 onward

Block World

v0.04

The Severed Head effect's presence on this map is bizarre, considering how the map that contains it in v0.10 is accessible in v0.04.
  • The Mafurako NPC is not present. She is found on the Checkered Tile Path instead.
  • The Severed Head effect can be found on the lower end of the map.
  • A purple gate can be found on the ground plane that takes you to the Neon Tile Path.
  • There are less block structures than in v0.10.

Toriningen's Bed

Yn006 removedEvent.png
  • There is a purple gate on the higher plane that leads to an event that was removed in v0.07. Dubbed the Toriningen's Bed event by fans, Mafurako will teleport you to it from the aforementioned Checkered Tile Path.
  • The event has Madotsuki walk to the right to enter a bed. This triggers switch 138 to have an unavoidable Toriningen chase after you. Getting caught by it places you in the black void of Footprint Path B, where the Goppa creatures reside. Eyeball World's music is used on this map in v0.04.
    • In RPG Maker, this map is under Eyeball World's folder, and is set to use the same music as its parent map, explaining the music choice in this version.

v0.06

The Toriningen's Bed event is in v0.06 too, but the music is now Block World's at a 50% tempo.

v0.07

  • The gate leading to the Toriningen's Bed event has been replaced with the black & white gate to the White Desert.
  • Mafurako has been moved here, but has some strange properties compared to later versions.
    • When teleporting Madotsuki, she does not come with you. This can potentially leave you trapped and forced to wake up.
    • Transforming into a snowman has no effect on whether she comes with you.
    • She is completely immune to the Traffic Light effect. This also means that she still has no graphics for her visible form.
  • The purple gate leading to the Neon Tile Path was removed.
  • The Severed Head effect is no longer obtained here, and was moved to its final location.

v0.08

Identical to v0.10.

Puddle World

v0.04

  • Two gates instead of one: The pink gate leads to Footprint Path A, and the purple gate leads to Dense Woods A like in v0.10.
  • Two Nenrikido NPCs are on the map in v0.04, but they only play their sound effect, and do not teleport Madotsuki to another map.
  • The unused torii gate found in the tileset of v0.10 is not present.
  • The map is smaller, being only 110×110 tiles instead of 120×120.

v0.07

  • The pink gate was removed, and the purple gate was replaced with the tunnel seen in v0.10.
  • The Nenrikido NPCs were removed.
  • The map is still same size as older versions.

Dark World

v0.04

  • The iconic floor patterns are missing.
  • Two gates instead of one: The purple gate leads to Face Carpet Plaza, while the pink gate leads to the Wilderness like in v0.10.
  • The Sprit Headband effect is found here in v0.04. In v0.10, the Fleebie NPC that gives the effect is found in Ghost World, a map that did not exist in v0.04.
  • The Pissipissini NPCs are not present.

v0.07

The purple gate was removed, and the pink gate was replaced with a unique graphic instead.

v0.08

A single Pissipissini NPC was added.

v0.04

  • v0.04 has two gates, while v0.10 has none. The pink gate leads to Footprint Path B, and the purple gate takes you to Face Carpet Plaza.
  • A seventh igloo that would lead to the Pink Sea is not present yet at this point in development.
  • The lunatic Toriningen is missing from Igloo3.

v0.07

Almost identical to v0.10, aside from Igloo3 lacking the Toriningen.

v0.08

The lunatic Toriningnen was added in Igloo3, making it identical to v0.10.

v0.04

  • Two gates instead of one: The pink gate leads to the Sewers like in v0.10, and the purple gate leads to Dense Woods A.
  • The Poop Hair effect is found here. Much later, moved to the storage area of the Underground World, which did not exist until v0.10.
  • There are less murals around the map.

v0.07

  • The pink gate has been replaced with a manhole.
  • The purple gate that led to Dense Woods A has been removed.

Graffiti World

v0.04

  • The tile layout on the right side is much simpler.
  • Two gates instead of just one: The pink gate goes to the Mall, like the elevator in later versions. The purple gate leads to the Neon Tile Path.

v0.07

  • The pink gate has been replaced with an elevator.
  • The purple gate that led to Neon Tile Path has been removed.
  • The tile layout on the right side is still simpler.

Eyeball World

v0.04

  • The purple gate leads to Mini Hell.
  • Later versions added more body parts strewn about the map, including the jumping legs not present in v0.04.

v0.07

The purple gate was changed into the Severed Blue Head NPC, which takes you to Footprint Path A, where the Henkei Shita reside.

v0.08

Eyeball World is almost the same as in v0.10, but the arrangement of the eyeballs on the right side of the map is still the same as older versions.

Candle World

v0.04

  • There is a purple gate that leads to Hell. This would be changed to a striped pyramid that takes you to Checkered Tile Path by v0.09's release.
  • A couple pairs of candles near the center of the map were mirrored horizontally in v0.10.
  • The candle directly north of the purple gate / pyramid would be shortened in v0.10.
  • The Dwarf that provides the Midget effect only makes a high pitched sound as it runs.

v0.06

  • Two gates instead of one: The pink gate takes you to The Docks, and the purple gate leads to Hell.
  • The Dwarf that provides the Midget effect now makes two different noises, but one of them has a higher pitch than in v0.10.

v0.07

  • The pink gate was removed.
  • The purple gate was replaced with the pyramid leading to the Checkered Tile Path.
  • The overall layout is now the same as v0.10.

v0.08

  • The Walking Candles were added where the pink gate used to be in v0.06.
  • The two pairs of candles near the center of the map are still not mirrored horizontally.
  • The candle that is directly north of the pyramid has not been shortened yet.

Neon World

v0.04

  • The layout is completely different. The map would remain in this style all the way up to v0.09.
  • Two gates instead of one: The pink gate leads to Footprint Path 1, and the purple gate brings you to the Guillotine Room.
  • Fewer types of neon creatures are present.

v0.06

  • The neon monkey floor patterns have been added.
  • The starting positions of the neon creatures have been rearranged.

v0.07

  • The pink gate that led to Footprint Path A has been removed.
  • The purple gate that led to the Guillotine Room has been replaced with the neon pyramids that lead to the Neon Tile Path.

v0.08

Lamp World and Number World

Number World was not implemented until v0.08. Prior to this, its door in the Nexus led to an earlier iteration of Lamp World.

v0.04

  • The layout is completely different, though like in v0.10, the Lamp effect is still found here.
  • Stabbing the Toriningen inside the bed room and getting caught by it will send you to the Guillotine Room.
  • The candle near the bloodstain can be stabbed to put out the flame, but does not have any other properties.
  • The pink gate leads to the Footprint Path.
  • The purple gate leads to the Checkered Tile Path.
  • The short lamp takes you to the small area in the Checkered Tile Path where Closet Madotsuki is, like in v0.10.
  • The music used is different, and is likely an early version of the Toriningen Beat. It is also used in Face Carpet Plaza.

v0.07

  • Both gates were removed.
  • A blood arrow pointing to the blood splatter was added, indicating that you can enter the Guillotine Room by stepping on it.
    • This makes the Toriningen redundant since it sends Madotsuki to the same area.
  • A second window was added above the blood splatter.

v0.08

  • Number World's map is overall the same as in v0.10.
  • In the bedroom area, sleeping in one of the beds will dim the lights, the same as how it worked in the classic Lamp World. This was removed in v0.10 to replace it with the random chance of taking you to the Staircase of Hands, an area that did not exist in v0.08.
(Source: GatoBot)
  • Lamp World has been relegated to a sub-area in Number World.
    • In Lamp World, the eye tile that can be stepped on after getting caught by a Toriningen uses a different sprite. This sprite remains in v0.10, albeit unused.
