This is a sub-page of Saints Row (2006)/Unused Graphics.

Graphics that make up earlier pause menus can be found in the customization, px_base_unpack, px_pause_menu_base and px_pause_menu_map files. Menus in the final use the HUD_sheet_00 filename. Many of them appear to date from around the E3 2005 build considering many of them can be spotted there.

customization.peg

Graphics that make up a sort-of rough customization screen can be found in customization.peg. Judging from the style, it looks to be from before the E3 2005 build.

Graphics that make up character creation. Interestingly, there's a button that have the ability to enter the name for Playa, but it was scrapped.

Menu Borders

racing.peg

Found in "racing" are early graphics for racing. They were used in the E3 2005 build, while the "3, 2, 1, Go" graphic was used in the post-X05 build. There interestingly exists graphics all the way up to 8th place, but only a maximum four racers appear in the final, even at the highest Activity level.

Race Positions

px_base

Found in px_base are some early graphics. The borders are used in the E3 2005 build.

Menus

px_pause_menu_base

They're very similar in style to the E3 2005 build.

Graphics that make up the "help border". Oddly, px_helpbrdr4 and 6 are missing which were likely intended for the sides.

Early icon graphics. A save icon is present, whereas in the final the player can only save at a save location in Cribs or Strongholds.

Graphics that make up a scrapped save screen, along with a placeholder save icon.

PlayStation Button Prompts?

Oddly, PlayStation button prompts are present, except that the shapes are missing.

Earlier Phone graphics, featuring less pixelated buttons.

Earlier Homie Graphics

Earlier Homie graphics. Oddly, there exists six placeholder menu duplicates of the unlockable Homies (internally referred to as "host"), notably with different names. Those are "debra", "gen", "marc", "parkr", "rest" and "wing", which don't match with the names in the final or the E3 2005 build. Homies would have mugshots in Saints Row 2.

The filenames likely stood for Debra, (debra), Mr. Wong (likely misspelled as wing), Marcel (marc) and Parker (parkr). This implies that adding Parker from Red Faction was considered at this point of development, but Lin is oddly nowhere to be mentioned.

SR1 px hostpic.pngSR1 px hostbars.pngSR1 px hostbrwnbox.png

Apparently, Homies were supposed to have an "experience bar", likely based on how well they drive or handle their weapons.

SR1 px hostexpbarover.pngSR1 px hostexpbar.pngSR1 px hostexpbarcap.png

Unused icons meant for Homies, maybe they were supposed to have side jobs? "px_hostacthealth" may have been reworked into the Emergency Service.

px_pause_menu_map

Found exclusively in px_pause_menu_map are earlier map graphics.

vc_veh_cust_base

There's only two menu button graphics present in the file, signifying that car customization wasn't complete at that point of development.
