Socket is pretty much what would happen if Sonic the Hedgehog fused with Pulseman. Yes, they would become a purple duck with a plug for a tail.
Level Select
At the main menu, hold Up + Right + A + B + C and press Start.
The first number decides which level you start out in, while the second number decides the sub-level.
In addition, if word $FFFD0E is set to a nonzero value, the text NORMAL will change to MAP CHECK. The variable does not appear to be used by any other place in the game, so the map check feature may have been removed entirely.
