This is a sub-page of Spiral Knights.

Gear

Angelic Raiment/Deep Sea Cuirass

Some of the oldest of the unused equipment is a piece of armor located in rsrc/item/gear/armor/proto. It has two presets, "pink angel" and "blue fish", which represent the Angelic Raiment and the Deep Sea Cuirass, pieces of armor that were removed after the beta. The Angelic Raiment was redesigned for the full game, however the original design and the Deep Sea Cuirass remain unused. The sets' helmets, Angelic Helmet and Jaws of Megalodon, also remain in rsrc/item/gear/helm/valkyrie.

Oddly enough, when Spiral Knights' HUD was redesigned in 2013, the Deep Sea Cuirass and Jaws of Megalodon received rendered icons that are also unused.

Industrial Hard Hat/Firefighter Helmet

Similarly, the Mining Hat still contains data for the Industrial Hard Hat and Firefighter Helmet, the latter of which also got unused rendered icons after the HUD redesign.

Shining Ward

Once again, the Defender still contains the data for the Shining Ward, however unlike the other items this shield was not fortunate enough to receive a rendered icon. It does still remain in game in some form, as an old rusted shield with the same face design can be found in a pile of weapons in Punch and Vise's workshop, using a different model and texture.

Gates

Elevator

rsrc/world/dynamic/elevator contains subfolders that relate to the elevators. It also contains relics of the early beta's less-efficient file tree. While all of the current elevator's files are all stored in the "univeral"(sic) subfolder (with Shadow Lair elevators in "ultimateboss" instead), the folder still contains the subfolders "next" and "start" which both together contain a beta elevator design that somewhat clashes with the current game's art style, outside of Haven at least. The "next" folder contains an active elevator, it displays the 'waiting on lift' icon between the lights where the energy price would be (before elevators were made free). This elevator can actually replace the current one and still functions, although some animations need to be replaced as well to make it look right. The "start" folder just contains the elevator base that players spawn on when entering a level, and as such it can replace the current one with no problems.

Arcade

rsrc/world/dynamic/gates/arcade_pillar contains the files related to the pillars in the arcade that display a gate's current stratums, and strangely enough, every file related to the beta's pillar seems to be intact. It seems to display information for every single floor rather than only displaying every stratum, and each pip can be colored and stretched. It also contains a very detailed and somewhat complex mineral indicator mode for upcoming gates, with animations for switching between the two. It's very pretty and unique, matching the art style well unlike the unused elevators, however it was most likely changed due to lack of visual clarity, and possibly because the mineral deposit display was really confusing (as mineral depositing in general was considered confusing while it was in game). A developer named Cherub has released concept art containing this pillar, stating that the object was redone many times.

This model can replace the current one, but it will always be closed.

On the other hand, rsrc/world/dynamic/gates/platform, which is an outdated file path to the arcade terminal platform, contains another early elevator platform that looks very similar to the others. The final version of this platform is in rsrc/world/dynamic/elevator/univeral with all of the other elevator-related models. This could also replace the final version.

When mineral depositing was still a feature of Spiral Knights, new gates would have mineral dumps replace the normal gate terminals. However, the gate monitors still contain mineral dump variants from the beta, when the terminal was not replaced this way. In fact, despite using a different model from the beta, the gate terminals still have presets for being turned off with a number applied to their button.

This image highlights several of these objects well.
