Splatoon 2/Early Map Versions & TestFields
This is a sub-page of Splatoon 2.
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
To do: Lack of a Field model or using a wrong one is not an accurate representation of these maps. All videos need to be replaced with more accurate documentation. |
This page or section has one or more broken YouTube links. Please find an archived version of the video(s) or a suitable replacement. |
Splatoon 2 has a lot of early maps, test maps, and unused maps, including a fair amount of things that come from Splatoon.

TF04_EnemyTest
The map contains lots of enemies from Octo Canyon, as well as one random Inkrail.

An early version of Secret Bowling Alley.
TF852_runaway_test_backup

A version of Snapper Canal that features Turf War and an early Rainmaker layout. The stage may have had trees at the time.
P2_TestTunnel
A version of Shellendorf Institute that features Early layout (excluding Clam Blitz)
D_TestUniversity
A version of Shellendorf Institute that features Turf War and an early Rainmaker layout. The stage had more trees present, and lots of missing objects.
TF1300_OctCave00 & TF1301_OctCave01
In this unused Story Mode map, you begin in Octcave00 with a giant rotating object on your right and a few enemies in front of you. On the platform on your left, you'll find two more rotating objects. Killing all the enemies will earn you a key, so you can travel to OctCave01 through the manhole gate.
TF880_Battle0-TF888_Battle8
In this unused Story Mode map, you move through six maps battling enemies and trying to stay alive. After defeating all the enemies on the stage, a manhole will appear and you can travel to the next battle stage.
TF906_rogaining_pivot
In this unused Story Mode map, you spawn in Museum d'Alfonsino, and moving around will make rivals jump upon you. There are no Mini Zapfish, so this map cannot be completed.
TF802_rogaining_crank
In this unused Story Mode map, you spawn in Urchin Underpass. There are no rivals on this map, but there are Mini Zapfish, so you can complete the level easily.
TF918_rogaining_Tutorial
In this unused Story Mode map, you spawn in the tutorial, and moving around will make rivals jump upon you. There are Mini Zapfish present, so you can complete this level.
TF908_rogaining_tuzura
An early version of Octolings Ahoy!.
