Missing Categories

Ahh, seems my account is validated. Shweet.

Alrighty, first question! I've noticed that on articles like this, and some other articles, that the game itself is listed in the navbox as being on multiple platforms (i.e. PC, XBOX 360, Nintendo DS), yet the categories for the article (let's use this article as an example) only show the "PC Games" category. Would it be alright to add in categories such as Category:Xbox 360 games/Category:Nintendo DS games to the article? 404 User Not Found 14:53, 12 February 2012 (EST)

Unused perks.

So I accidentally put this huge table of unused perks on the Modern Warfare 3 article. Turns out, after doing another Google search to verify, it seems I was wrong and that these are for Modern Warfare 2. Here's the table. I've removed my little "Notes" things that I wrote, thinking these were for MW3. Feel free to add this to the page and weed out the perks that actually ended up ingame, and which went unused. 404 User Not Found 18:29, 4 March 2012 (EST)

"Offhand" PERKS_LAST_STAND_OFFHAND "Use equipment in last stand."
Seeing as AK47 decided it'd be best to wait for confirmation that the above table of perks are indeed legitimate, and mostly unused, here's some proof in the form of images of (most) of the above perks, all found on the Call of Duty Elite website. Click here to view the MW2 Unused Perks section of my new subpage (which also contains a legit buttload of awesome things found on the Call of Duty Elite website. 404 User Not Found 20:18, 5 March 2012 (EST)

MW1 Leftovers

I've been into MW2 modding at some point, there are plenty of weapon leftovers from MW1 like AK-47 and already mentioned Golden Desert Eagle as well as possibilities to have heartbeat sensor on SPAS-12, AA-12 and UMP-45. I had a chance to talk with original developer and asked why there were no heartbeats on shotguns and smgs in multiplayer they said that it was done for balancing purposes, having heartbeat on close range weapons would make them even more stronger and potentially very unbalanced. Its been more than 5 years now I don't have much remaining but few screenshots and a video I made while messing around with weapon configs in multiplayer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7cx9GuISXw MG4 original scope: http://i.imgur.com/iXX7Ik4.jpg MW1 AK47: http://i.imgur.com/G5YLdJo.jpg Video itself is taken on SP oilrig map which was adapted for mp in alteriwnet, when I asked said iw developer why proper oilrig mp map never made it to game they said that having it multi-storey wasn't very fun and rendered most killstreaks useless in lot of cases. Hope this info helps to expand the article. --Sa-Matra (talk) 08:54, 13 February 2016 (EST)

I don't know of anyone editing the article anymore, but this should be useful. Phrossi (talk) 09:30, 13 February 2016 (EST)

I will be adding video's of most of the cut MW1 content as well as updating the article to reflect my findings. Working on updating the weapon section for now. If anyone out there would like to help, please let me know. RezTech (talk) 17:01, 27 March 2016 (EST)

Let's discuss the platform situation

Modern Warfare 2 was released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows I believe at the same time. Although this page was clearly geared towards the Windows release of the game (of which there is a plentiful array of modding tools and modded versions of the game), there is unused content exclusive to the console releases that could be documented on this wiki. However, if a page was created about the console releases of the game, the amount of boilerplate content could be astronomical given the amount of stuff documented here and the fact that the game was being developed for all three platforms seemingly simultaneously.

One solution I'd like to propose is that this page could be re-organized to only contain things known to exist in all of the releases and then migrate the platform-exclusive content to their own separate sub-pages. The page itself would be renamed to just "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" and the platform-specific stuff would be located in sub-pages like "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/Windows-Specific Content". This would reduce the amount of confusion I've noticed where people keep adding content specific to console releases on the page for the Windows release of the game.

I'd love to know what you all think.
