Unused area?

Peardian has, over MSN, made numerous claims that there is an unused area in this game, which was mapped out on VGMaps. Problem is, I can't seem to find the unused area on the hugeass 1:1 scale map they have on VGMaps, and he talks of a thread on their forums talking about it that I can not seem to find.
