Clarification regarding Petit Love stepdata?

While the step file has been converted to the format used in the PS1 Dance Dance Revolution games, it is a perfect match to the data seen in Dance Dance Revolution 4thMIX PLUS.

I'm afraid I don't understand, I thought that by the time DDR hit 4thMIX, Konami had already moved to the SSQ format for stepdata (as opposed to the format used back in 1st Mix, 2ndMIX, and derivatives thereof). Am I mistaken?

And if I am not mistaken, I don't understand what is meant by "converted to the format used in the PS1 Dance Dance Revolution games," since between PSX and the (PSX-based) 573 mixes, they've stuck to the same formats as much as possible if I recall correctly. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Travelsonic (talk • contribs)

the step format used by the ps1 games (and not sys573) is not ssq, as the chart data is organized differently. however, there's some similiarities, such as the tempo/offset header being organized more or less the same way
i'll give more details when i get back home --Tikal. (talk) 18:34, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
