Prototype?

Someone on Something Awful apparently found and dumped a translated NES prototype of this game:

I'm not skilled enough in NES hacking to investigate the internal changes to the ROM or determine it's legitimacy, nor am I particularly interested in playing this side by side with the original, so I'm just leaving this note here for anyone interested.

Edit: Nevermind, I stopped and looked though the graphics with a tile viewer, and very quickly found the username of another person on the thread where I found the real. It's definitely not a real proto.

Was he involved in dumping the thing? I seriously hope this isn't a case of the dumper watermarking the dump - Andlabs 21:28, 27 August 2012 (EDT)
It's a romhack. A translation of some sort. They edited parts of the hidden message to insert their own credits, fercris'sakes... "Title by Zari-Gani, Prog Univbee, English by Zari-Gani + Saggcx!" // Foxhack 21:35, 27 August 2012 (EDT)
You got in before I hit submit. I was just going to say: The message in the ROM is, "TITLE BY ZANI-GANI PROG UNIVBEE ENGLISH BY ZARI-GANI + SAGCCX". SAGCCX is the name of the fan translation team for the Japanese show Game Center CX on Something Awful. Univbee is the person who posted the ROM, and Zari-Gani is one of the team's translators and works a graphic designer. TapamN 21:40, 27 August 2012 (EDT)

Move page to Ganso Saiyuuki: Super Monkey Daibouken

The Super Monkey Daibouken part of the title is present on both the boxart and title screen, and is also used on the page itself for the description and bob, so I think it'd be a good idea to also have the name of the article reflect it. --Snessy the duck (talk) 08:10, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
