Game version and hex editing the EXE file

I'd like to ask the OP (or any other user who can verify that) what version of the game did they use for that hex editing trick - Steam, GOG, retail (which language/region)? I have the GOG English ver. and using Hex Editor Neo, I couldn't find any of the strings mentioned in the article, neither in POP2.exe nor PrinceOfPersia.exe. --Ylthin96 (talk) 12:55, 30 November 2019 (EST)

Retail version, possible Europe with the English language. --From: CounterDiving (talk) 14:32, 30 November 2019 (EST)
Guess I'll pull out my own retail copy (Polish) and check if it's retail-exclusive. Small thing, but IMO it should be mentioned on the page. --Ylthin96 (talk) 16:33, 30 November 2019 (EST)
OK, pulled out my retail copy of PoP Trillogy (a re-release triple-pack thingy with SoT/WW/TT all on one disk) and the strings mentioned in the article are indeed present in the EXE file. More importantly, however, the EXE from the retail copy is different from the GOG version. Not only are the strings missing, the file size is different by ~4MB (5404 KB vs. 1859 KB). I'll mark it in the article for clarity. --Ylthin96 (talk) 09:12, 1 December 2019 (EST)
