Mean Machines Promo Tape

Found this on YouTube a while ago. A very early version of the game was shown on a Sega promo tape provided by UK magazine Mean Machines. It seems to be from a somewhat earlier version than the documented prototype, as the seesaws in the first level hadn't been implemented yet. That's the only difference I noticed, though. Also the music may sound a bit rougher, but the footage might've just been recorded from a crappy Mega Drive model. The clip can be seen here if GoldS or somebody wants to throw together a prerelease page. --Rabidabid (talk) 22:38, 29 September 2015 (EDT)

Now that I've seen that video, it's easy to see where the old layout was just hastily pasted over (That root tile above the large red mushroom, the cut off mushroom to the right of that one, the two sets of cliff edges). Incidentally, I've found an object in the prototype that initiates some gameplay demos. Those were probably recorded for that prototype, since the later prototype desyncs at that section. --GoldS (talk) 23:04, 29 September 2015 (EDT)

Unused graphics

I've been doing my personal tradition of playing World of Illusion around Xmas, and this time I went for the JP version (final). That one also contained the spade-skinned card enemies, so they're not just in the prototype? --Keelhaul (talk) 18:14, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
