Final Boss Instant Kill

When I first discovered the ability to move Adol around with Controller 2 in Debug Mode, I experimented with it in the battle with the final boss. After several seconds, the boss died instantly. Normally you have to destroy the boss's hands before you can even damage it, but I hadn't even touched the boss at all and it exploded. However, I have never since been able to duplicate what I did. I'm guessing that there might be a very specific button sequence that I accidentally hit upon to cause that, but I don't know what it would have been.
