This is a sub-page of Titan Quest/Unused and Cut Enemies.

Antlion

A testing antlion enemy exists named "antlion01" among other antlions. Its purpose was most likely to test the ambush behavior, which is shared by nearly every antlion that the player encounters. By default it's visually hidden even in the editor due to the parameter "startVisible" in "Character" tab being set to 0.

Beetle

Two testing beetles exist named "carrionbeetle" and "carrionbeetlefly". Judging by their animation sets they were used to test two types of running & walking animations for beetles - simple walking and flying above the ground. The second beetle internally is named as Beetle Bailey, which is a reference to an American comic strip created by cartoonist Mort Walker, published since September 4, 1950.

Crypt Worm

Two testing crypt worms exist named "cryptworm" and "cryptwormspitter". Both of them use the unused white cryptworm texture and have non-existing controller. The "cryptworm" is internally named as GROSS! and has nothing else interesting to point out, and the "cryptwormspitter" is internally named as SLIMY! and has a skill named "WormMastery_VolcanicOrb" that it was supposed to cast every 5 second. The problem is that it doesn't exist among other Blabore's works.

Additionally 4 unused skins exist for Crypt worms: two devourer skins (DevourerB and DevourerC), already mentioned default skin and a grub. The only three textures that are used by worms are DevourerA, LarvaeA and LarvaeB. The default crypt worm texture in the Anniversary Edition release ended up being used for the "All Devourer" Crypt Worm hero.

Dune Raider

An unused mesh for the rumour encounter of mountless Dune Raider exists. The only Dune Raider rumour boss that the player fights is Iznu, and even he appears mounted on the hyena beast, rendering the mountless Dune Raider mesh unused.

Guardian and Possessed Statues

These constructs have a lot of unused content. The common guardian statues have three testing enemies for all 3 meshes, two of which are unused. The first statue named "guardianstatue01" is just a test monster that actually has a working controller, and has an internal name of "I am a Statue" and uses first mesh. The second and third statues named "guardianstatuepose01" and "guardianstatuepose02" are classified as stationary props and use two unused meshes named the same way as the statues themselves. What those meshes represent is the posing statue with no skeleton. First mesh puts the statue in idle pose, while the second raises the right hand above by 90 degrees.

Additionally, there is an alt texture that makes it look like it's made out of granite. It's technically used for lvl 27 and 29 variations, but since those statues appear only in one location and these two levels are not written into any pools, those are went unused.

Now for the possessed statue, there is an unused alt texture and 2 unused meshes. The unused alt texture titled "underground" makes the statue (or its throne since statue and throne use the same texture file) look more brownish rather than sandstoneish. Most likely that Sandstone possessed statues were supposed to be used as decorations somewhere on the surface while the "Underground" statues were the one to be fought. The 2 unused meshes on the other hand, named "statuepossessed_telkine01" and "statuepossessed_telkine02" make the statue look like the one that was used in the early gameplay video from one of E3 demonstrations. The only difference in those two meshes is that the first doesn't have a working skeleton, while the second - does have it. Additionally, the two testing possessed statues have an internal name of "Statue", and that's all.

Hyena Beast

Hyena Beast has resources for the saddle that is used for one Jackalman mesh. Since the mesh itself went unused and unfinished, the saddle itself on the Hyena Beast is also unused. For more info about the mesh - scroll down a bit.

Jackalman

Four unused testing jackalmen exist, one of which uses the unused mesh. The first three are Jackalman01, Jackalmanarcher01 and Jackalmanmage01, all internally named as Jack of all trades al. All three have an existing controller, but all three lack proper equipment. Checking their files reveals that they were supposed to carry various weapons and jackalmen armor, but due to their names either being misspelled because those were old names or due to the test weapons being removed, the only equipment that properly work are shield on Jackalman01 and helmet on Jackalmanmage.

As for the fourth and last testing Jackalman, it's Jackalmanmounted01 and, as the name suggests, he appears to be riding the Hyena beast, with the unused saddle being on the mount. It's an unused and unfinished mesh that is named the same way as the testing enemy. Despite the fact that the mesh looks mostly finished, the attachment points for equipment are not positioned in the right places, which causes all equipment to appear on the bottom center of the enemy. The only animation that exists for this mesh - idle animation. The enemy itself is internally named as Mounted Jackal.

Manticore

A Manticore-related enemy exists in Manticore's folder. It's simply named as manticore and appears to be yet another testing enemy, judging by the very "informational" stats, non-existing controller and the name being just "Manticore" without any tags.

Mummy

Three testing mummies exist in the folder among other mummies. First one is mummy_e3spawnskeleton, who, as the name suggests, appeared on E3 gameplay demonstration trailer and was supposed to spawn skeleton upon death. It doesn't do such thing because it lacks a skill in the "DyingSkillName" parameter in "Skill Configuration" section to do so. The other two are mummymelee01 and mummymageo1. While mage doesn't have any skills, the melee mummy has three skills, two of which do not exist anymore, with them being Telkine_Telekinesis and Telkine_ChaosPower. Neither of those mummies can wear armor that is written for them because they refer to them incorrectly, and same goes for the weapons. The only properly referred weapon is the sword weapon for mummy_e3spawnskeleton enemy. Internal name for mage mummy is Dia-Dnab, while the other two are internally named as Mr. Bandages.

Sand Wraith

Two sand wraiths exist among other sand wraiths. Both use the same name that is shared among other Sand Wraiths, and both have testing stats, working controller, and both are set to be hidden until the player comes closer to them, similarly to the Antlion. They're named as sandwraith and sandwraithlord in files.

Scarabeus

Smiliarly to Manticore, a test enemy exists in Scaraberus' folder, who seems to be serving exactly same purpose as the Manticore's case, just being a testing enemy.

Scorpion

In a folder named "giantscorpion", a separated mesh and texture exist for the colossal variation of Scorpions. While the texture looks finished, the mesh itself is slightly glitched in a sense that its legs aren't animated, and its moving speed is extremely slow. Putting colossal scorpion's texture over the normal mesh instead of the "colossal" mesh works just fine.

Scorpos

A testing Scorpos exists among other Scorposes. It has a name Scorpos, both as a file and internally, has testing stats, arachno's controller and no weapons to spawn with, which puts him into a weaponless state which was unused prior to Anniversary Edition's release, which gave common Scorposes a chance to appear without melee weapon as well.

Vulture

A testing Vulture exists among other Vultures. File-named Vulture and internally named as Vul-Tros, it has very low testing stats, but has different levels depending on the difficulty. Nothing much to say about this Vulture.
