So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Document unused sound effects and jingles from this video.
  • Document the unreleased Chinese iQue version of this game.
  • Check if the fan translation translated the names of the unused enemy and items and include them here.

Tomato Adventure was AlphaDream's second and last RPG prior to the release of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, which would go on to take inspiration from this game's battle system and include two unused tracks based on its title screen music. It's also rather famous for one of its normal enemies being referenced in said game.

The game was also originally being developed for the Game Boy Color as Gimmick Land, with its prototype eventually being found in a leak on September 2020.

Unused Enemies

Hmmm...
To do:
There may be more. See the talk page.
  • Tomatowalker (トマトウォーカー): This enemy can be seen on the Gimmick Palace, firing StarMato enemies. However, they are always placed outside of the player's reach and cannot be battled vicariously through their spawn. Despite this, battle data for them exists. Not to be confused with its yellow mini-boss counterpart.

It can be accessed anywhere in battle with the encounter modifier with offset $637ED0 (code 030008EC:08637ED0), which seems to be the 73rd enemy pointer in the ROM.

Hidden Gimica Cards

Two of the Gimica Cards in the game (Abira and Pasaran) are only available with a series of specific button presses. This secret is hidden away in the Nintendo Official Guidebook for the game on Page 68, published by Shogakukan.
