Playable Rosalina

In an interview, Davide Soliani, a director for the game, revealed that Rosalina was origially intended to be a playable character. However, they eventually decided to scrap that idea, as there were two major problems: one, she would have been too tall to fit behind cover, and two, she was simply "too powerful".
