aaa and xlbgm01.bin - Scrapped Song 2

Early Final (unused)
aaa 300px
aaa (fixed) 300px
xlbgm01.bin 300px

This is the first of two songs to make it into the final version but remain unused. An even earlier version of this song exists in the file named aaa, which is not compatible with any of the existing instrument set files in this directory or the final version. However, by rearranging the order in which instruments are defined, a clearer comparison can be made.

The intro to this track has some similarities to the following one...

xlbgm04.bin - Easy Ride/Cotton Farm

xlbgm04.bin Final

The banjo's part is very plain in the early track, but thankfully got a big overhaul by the game's release.

xlbgm05.bin - Sky Ramp/Ice Dance

As with Easy Ride, the part the banjo plays is far simpler than in the final version.

xlbgm07.bin - Ending

The loop is much shorter in the early version.

xlbgm09.bin - Scrapped Song 4

This song is used in the title screen/main menu in some prerelease videos, and was probably in the CES 1994 build of the game. Despite being almost totally different in composition to the title theme, it has the various car sound effects baked into it. The melody may have inspired the Blue Lake song.

xlbgm12.bin - Scrapped Song 6

This song is very similar to White Land, which is xlbgm17.bin. Both even end their loops on the same chord!

xlbgm13.bin - Scrapped Fanfare
300px
This may be an early version of the race start fanfare for Stunt Trax, though the final version is much longer than this.

The engine sounds heard throughout the song are different than in the final version.
