Scrapped Ideas

Tony Grayson would reveal that he was in discussions with Brendan O’Brien, famously the voice of Crash Bandicoot in early games of the series, about having a role in Antonblast. However, Brendan's death in March of 2023 prevented this from happening. It is currently unknown what role he was proposed to be in.

Press Kit Screenshots

Five screenshots in total were included in the game's official press kit, released on May 17th 2022. Interestingly, all of these are dated March 4th 2022, exactly one year after Antonball Deluxe's release.

This screenshot of The Whine Cellar has a brighter sewer palette both for Anton and a couple of background objects. This is especially noticable with Anton's beard, which has a slight tint of blue instead of being entirely black.

In this screenshot of The Ace of Spades, Anton is already on the other side of the stage without having activated the detonator. Either the spade blocks weren't in place yet, or a debug tool was used to pass through.

Reveal Trailer & Previews

The reveal trailer of the game has some slight differences compared to the released Kickstarter demo. A handful of content creators were also given this build (or at least something similar to it) to give extensive previews to be published alongside the Kickstarter's launch.

  • The title screen is completely different. Keyart is used as background and you'll only be able to toggle inputs and fullscreen.

  • Anton's intro plays a fall sound effect.
  • Anton can destroy brick blocks without stopping when doing a hammer spin.
  • The palettes in Red House are uneven, where the Dice blocks are brighter and the background wall darker.

  • The camera when entering The Whine Cellar moves to the right for a bit, which is just a bug.
  • Pickup Passage does not exist yet and almost all rooms on the way there were modified.
    • Septic Tank has Brulo blocks covering The Deep Drop. This also leaves all the collectibles covered up by hearts in Dream Drop Distance inaccessible.
    • The Deep Drop has no Brulo blocks covering the second layer.
    • Dream Drop Distance has a wall to the right.
    • The passthrough platform in The Ace of Spades doesn't exist.
